Tips On Getting A Discount Hotel Room

I have seen many of friends spend days and even weeks planning their vacations each year making sure that they get everything right down to the last little detail. But when it comes time to choose a hotel room they always just pick the first one that is available.

To make sure that you’re getting the best deal possible on your next hotel room we have put together some tips to help you find a discount hotel room.

Tip #1.

Always ask the hotel for a better price. Don’t just assume that the price given by the hotel or website that you are using is the best price you can get. Ask them if they are running any specials. You will also want to ask them if they give discounts to senior citizens, AAA members and frequent flier miles.

Some hotels will also give discounts if you belong to a hotel membership club, work for the government or work for a large company.

Tip #2.

Be sure to go online and check out all of the deals that are available from the different websites. Don’t just check out one or two of the sites. You will find that the prices can vary a lot from site to site.

Some of the sites to check out for a discount hotel room are Expedia, Travelocity, Hotels.com, Hotelrese Rvations.com, Hotwire.com, Kayak.com and Expedia.com. There are many more sites you can check out. Just do a search online for Hotel Reservations.

And don’t forget to check out the websites for the hotels themselves. You can sometimes find better deals from the hotels website.

Tip #3.

If it’s more important to you that you get a discount hotel room then the actual hotel that you will be staying in then it would be best that you shop around on sites like Hotwire.com or Priceline.com.

You won’t be able to choose the exact hotel that you will be staying in but you can choose the area that you would like to stay and the quality of the hotel as well, such as a 3 star hotel instead of a 2 star hotel. Booking your hotel in this manner could save you a fair amount of money.

Tip #4.

If at all possible, try and book your hotel room during the middle of the week. Almost all of the hotels charge higher rates during the weekends then they do mid-week. This is because most people plan their trips over the weekends leaving hotel rooms during the week mostly unoccupied.

Most hotels will gladly give you a discount on your room if you were willing to book your room during the slower times of the week.

Tip #5.

Last but not least, If you haven’t booked your hotel room in advance and you are trying to get a room at the hotel, don’t brings your bags into the hotel until after you have secured your room.

If a hotel clerk see you dragging heavy luggage into the hotel they are more likely to not offer you any deals because they are betting that you would rather pay whatever price they ask for instead of hauling your luggage back out to your car.

So the next time you are looking for a discount hotel room, use these helpful tips to secure a better deal.
